Okay. I finally got my CPU problem fixed...sorta. I don't know if this will work for all, but maybe?
In Nvidia control panel, set Vertical sync to application controlled and Threaded optimization to Auto, rather than ON. Set power management to Optimal, or Maximum performance. Don't use Adaptive.
In Game turn on Vsync and cap framerate to 60 using the adaptive resolution setting.
Close game and restart.
This brought my CPU from 100% to 83-97%, this might seem high, but my fans haven't gone crazy once, and my temperatures are fine.
I know this is a terrible workaround for those of us who have better systems, capable of running higher than 60 FPS, but at least it makes the game playable until the devs patch it.
If anyone else finds a different solution that works for them, please post it.
P.S. I'm still crashing every 5-15 minutes, but now it's from Steam disconnects and regular crashes, (the kind that send bug reports), rather than game shutdown from CPU overload.
